Mount Teide (Cruz de Tejeda) is the huge volcano located at the centre of Gran Canaria
Island. Visitors can drive to the top of the mountain from Las Palmas, Maspalomas and from other
coastal towns. The
trip to the Mount Teide volcano passes through desert-like conditions as well as lush
tropical zones. At the summit of the 1,949 meter volcano, the
temperature can be quite cool.
On route to Mount Teide, one can visit the small Canary Island villages and
enjoy the tropical fruits that grow in the region.
