The town of Agaete is located on the northwest coast of Gran Canaria.
The west coast of the island receives more rain than in the arid south. This tropical zone
is known for banana production and some its stunning scenery. Visitors to Agaete can learn about the local vegetation at the Huerto de las
Fores Botanical Garden in town.
Agaete is the departure point for ferries running to Santa Cruz de
Tenerife.
